Stolen Moment

October 7, 2011

I wish this couple finds their way here. After I took the picture and said my classic, “Very nice, thank you” (as I always do when I’m spotted), the man asked “Is this going onto Facebook now?”. I replied saying “Nah, I don’t use Facebook, it might go on Flickr though, but only if it’s nice. I try to be very selective with what I post”. Little did I know this would turn out to be one of my favourite photos to date. (Click on picture to enlarge)

One of my favourites too! I like the composition. The B&W conversion works very well with the high tonal range. Well done Christakis!

Thank you all! Chris, the B&W conversion is courtesy of Acros 100 and Rodinal. A friend said, there’s no better B/W conversion than using a B/W film. Not 100% true in my opinion, but I like to quote it.

I don’t know if there is a stolen moment or rather a unique moment. Very nice work.

Great shot! can I see it in color? :)

  10. October 7, 2011Christakis says:

Thanks all, really appreciate your comments. Georgie, unfortunately you can’t see it in colour. Not because I’m mean but because it was shot on B/W film which means there’s no colour version :-) In case you’re wondering it’s also uncropped. I added the film/camera info at the end of the post.

    Very nice image Chris.
Once again the old classic blows away the young pretender. :0D

Thanks Bob, the old classic keeps surprising me if I’m being honest…
